Michigan Central Depot

Detroit's Michigan Central Depot was constructed in 1913 for the Michigan Central Railroad. The Beaux-Arts inspired station was designed by the firm of Warren & Westmore (who also designed New York City's Grand Central Station) and served as Detroit's passenger railroad terminal until 1988. The original photo (circa 1930) has been hand colored and depicts the glory days of railroad travel with steam billowing from the locomotives in the foreground.
