JUNE 26, 2012 -- For the past 14 years, Pure Detroit has been a major component in brick-and-mortar retail in the city of Detroit. With three stores in Detroit’s most prominent and architecturally significant buildings -- the Fisher, the Guardian and the Renaissance Center -- we’ve prided ourselves on not only the highest quality apparel (designed by Detroiters, printed by Detroiters) but also amping up local culture through fundraising, concerts, lectures, book readings and more.
Now, with the help of Chase and Mission: Small Business, we have the chance to expand our brick-and-mortar retail impact in the city as well as our cultural outreach. Mission: Small Business is a grant program for small businesses across the country, giving 12 businesses each $250,000 grants to help reach their goal. You can vote right here.
We only have 4 days left! With 250 votes, we move on to the next round. We’ve been proud to serve customers from the city of Detroit and the surrounding suburbs for the past 14 years. Now, we’re calling on you to expand our vision and reach even more. Spread the word to your friends, family and anyone else who has supported Pure Detroit over the years.
Our goal? To continue upon the model we set in place 14 years ago; continue revitalizing downtown and New Center through vital shopping and retail districts; expand our cultural outreach through the city via local musicians, artists and performers; and to open our dream shop that incorporates the old Vernor’s soda fountains of Detroit’s past.
In addition, our affiliates over at Stella International Cafe are working towards roasting their own craft coffee within city limits. With two locations in the city -- next door to us at the Guardian Building and just down the hall at the Fisher -- we're excited to support them as well. While you are taking the time to vote for Pure Detroit, please cast a vote for Stella International Cafe as well. And as always, spread the word! [PD]
